Project at a glance

Product: RubberBond FleeceBack EPDM

Specified By: Flex-R

Approved Contractor: Morris Roofing & Leadworks Ltd.

The project

Sherd Lodge Care Home was converted and extended with the erection of an additional three floors, to create 49 flats.

Although liquid was originally specified, the client was looking for another option after having an unpleasant experience on a previous project in liquid. After introducing FLEX-R’s services and providing samples and previous case studies, RubberBond Single Ply was chosen as the favoured roofing solution as an alternate to liquid.

Although there were a few issues with balconies due to structural errors, outlets were added to drain away any surface water which had been causing ponding or flooding.

The client was especially impressed with the time in which the roof was completed as time was critical. This was easily done as RubberBond is clean, quick and easy to work with, having fewer seams. Robust and durable, RubberBond is backed by a 20 year guarantee, providing the building owner with confidence that the roof will last for decades to come.

Thanks to Morris Roofing & Leadworks Ltd, approved RubberBond Specialist Registered Installers, the conversion enhanced the appearance of the development and fulfilled a need for housing in the local community, in good time and within budget.
